Sue Halkett - Our Parish Council Clerk

The Clerk for Flore Parish Council is Sue Halkett, and she has served Flore Parish Council in that role for a good many years.

The Clerk to a Town or Parish Council is what is called the "Proper Officer" of the Council, a paid employee with a contract, and as such is under a statutory duty to carry out all the functions of a Council’s Proper Officer, and in particular to serve or issue all the notifications required by law. There are a lot of these!

Sue is very knowledgeable and capable when it comes to all things related to the functioning of Flore parish council and her role within it.
Our chairman, Tom Higginson says ‘it is a pleasure working alongside Sue who’s experience and wealth of knowledge is second to none. Sue brings this together with good humour to our meetings and enables us carry out our duties to the best of our abilities. As a previous chair once commented ‘very little escapes her attention’ which is just what we need to keep us focused.
Sue is also the Responsible Financial Officer for Flore parish council, and accountable for all financial records of the Council and the proper administration of its finances.

A resident of Weedon, she is also the Clerk to Weedon Parish Council and therefore she is a very useful "bridge" between the two neighbouring parishes.

We are lucky to have her.
