About your Parish Council
Flore Parish Council is the first tier of local government, representing the interests of the residents of Flore within West Northamptonshire. Parish Councillors are elected by local residents and serve the community on a voluntary, unpaid basis. The Council is non-political and operates within the legal powers and responsibilities set out in legislation.
Flore Parish Council has up to 10 elected councillors. The Council normally meets at 7.30pm, and members of the public are welcome to attend meetings and raise matters through the public participation arrangements. Agendas, minutes and other Council business are published on this website.
The Parish Council is responsible for a range of local matters, including street lighting (excluding the A45), grass cutting on parish-owned or maintained areas, benches, litter bins and other street furniture, and part of the closed churchyard. It also considers and comments on local planning applications and works with West Northamptonshire Council, the Police and other agencies on matters affecting the village.
It is important to note that the Parish Council is not responsible for every issue within the village. For example, parking enforcement, highways matters, boundary walls and fences, private trees and hedges, and general enforcement of the law are normally the responsibility of other authorities, landowners or individuals.
Flore's Neighbourhood Plan, approved by residents in a referendum in September 2016, gives the Parish Council an important role in influencing planning and development in the parish and protecting valued green spaces, views and other local amenities. The Council also seeks to ensure that developer contributions towards local infrastructure and facilities reflect the needs of the village.
The Parish Council welcomes residents' views and encourages everyone to take an interest in local Council business. Your Parish Council is here to represent the community and to help make Flore a thriving, attractive and well-managed village.

Flore Parish Council is committed to maintaining high standards of conduct and openness in all its business. All Members of Flore Parish Council are required to comply with the Council's Code of Conduct, and Councillors' Register of Interests and relevant declarations are available for public inspection.

Complaint Form
Standards arrangements for Parish Councillors are overseen by West Northamptonshire Council through its Appeals and Standards Committee. The Committee helps to promote and maintain high standards of conduct, supports the effective operation of the Code of Conduct and deals with complaints and local determinations relating to alleged breaches of the Code.
Making a Complaint
If you believe that a Member of Flore Parish Council has failed to comply with the Code of Conduct, you should first read the Arrangements for Dealing with Breaches of the Code of Conduct on the Official Documentation page. Complaints must relate specifically to the behaviour of an elected or co-opted Member and explain why you believe they have breached the Code of Conduct. Matters that fall outside the Code cannot be considered through this complaints procedure.
